Adress of Organizing President
Honorable Chair, Chief guest, Guest of honor, Special guests, Secretaries (executive and organizing), dignitaries, respected veterinarians, fellow delegates, friends, delegates of electronic and print media, ladies and gentleman in the inaugural session, I am humbly standing before you as Organizing President, fully blessed with your love and affection. It is indeed a great honor to be an Organizing President, kindly accept my Salam, sincere thanks; I am extending my heartiest greeting for the shocking (month of martyr’s day) and loving (Valentine Day) eve of this month! May this year overflow with fulfilling Veterinary Teaching and research experiences for each and every one of us. I am thinking aloud what everybody is feeling regarding the future developmental plan of the veterinary profession in Bangladesh where about Tk 40 thousand crore in poultry and TK 60 thousand crore for livestock have been engaged especially for 5 crores 67 lakhs of cattle, buffaloes, sheep, and goats, and 37 crores 56 lakhs of poultry. Professionals in our field have proved themselves as able clinicians, educators, researchers, and administrators nationally and internationally. Also, BSVER has been trying its best to improvise its functioning and bring in desirable changes for the past several years and we are definitely on a positive spiral. Prof. Dr. Golam Sahi Alam, Honorable Member, Accreditation Council, Bangladesh has elated this session by his gracious presence as Chief Guest and by agreeing to deliver the address of Annual Lecture Awardee. We are extremely delighted to find Prof. Dr. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, Honorable Vice-chancellor, Bangladesh Agricultural University as Chief patron, who is always a strong endeavor to organize annual conference of BSVER. The 30th BSVER annual conference is greatly acknowledge and appreciate the kind presence of the Key note speaker Dr. Nitish Chandra Debnath, DAI’s Country Team Lead for the Fleming Fund Bangladesh program, championed the One Health movement in Bangladesh and is currently Chair of One Health Bangladesh. The very plethora of the symposia theme “Smart Veterinary Education and One Health” seems to smother the efforts of our scientists, academicians, industrialists and practicing Vets. Smart Bangladesh stands on Vision 2041, is about more than a futuristic Bangladesh, all will be having 5G internet, there will have 100% smartphone and high-speed internet penetration, more people going cashless, using fastest technologies of artificial intelligence (AI), managing big data, apply drone science and digital chips in livestock and poultry, but public health important diseases and resistance organisms would be the hurdle to achieve it. The dignified special guests, session speakers and discussants will be giving emphasis how to frame up all the challenges and uplifting Veterinary profession, researches and academics in fulfilling Vision 2031 and 2041. Built on the 4 pillars of Smart Bangladesh like Citizens, Smart Government, Smart Economy and Smart Society, all are about bridging the digital devices by innovating, scaling up and applying sustainable digital solutions to all citizens, farmers, consumers of livestock and poultry regardless of their socio-economic background. Building on the launch pad created by Digital Bangladesh, Smart Veterinary services and combating one health rigors are the next major steps towards grasping Bangabandhu’s dream of Shonar Bangladesh, a dream of all of us. Hope will all be discussing in the sessions, wishing you all the very best and a successful conference.
