Message From the Secretary

Dear Esteemed Colleagues and Participants,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I extend a warm welcome to all of you to the 30th Annual Scientific Conference (BSVER ASConXXX) hosted by the Bangladesh Society for Veterinary Education and Research (BSVER). This esteemed event will take place on February 24th and 25th, 2024, at the picturesque Bangladesh Agricultural University campus.

Under the theme of “Smart Veterinary Education and One Health,” our conference aims to delve into crucial issues surrounding veterinary education and its profound impact on the holistic well-being of both animals and humans. As we navigate through the complexities of our world, it is imperative that we address the numerous challenges posed by zoonotic diseases such as bovine tuberculosis, anthrax, brucellosis, avian influenza, COVID-19, dengue, and many others.

These diseases not only have a significant impact on animal and human health but also resonate globally, affecting communities worldwide. As guardians of animal welfare and stewards of public health, veterinarians must be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to mitigate these challenges. Collaboration with human health and environmental experts is paramount in our collective efforts to combat these threats effectively.

Recognizing the evolving landscape of veterinary medicine, it is essential that we continually update and enhance veterinary curricula to address emerging challenges adequately. Through rigorous scientific inquiry and interdisciplinary collaboration, we can cultivate a new generation of veterinarians equipped to tackle the multifaceted challenges of our time.

Our conference will feature a diverse array of sessions, including annual lectures, keynote speeches, plenary sessions, and open paper and poster viewing sessions. We anticipate the participation of approximately 400 delegates, including national renowned experts, scientists, field veterinarians, and human health professionals. This convergence of expertise presents a unique opportunity for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the sharing of cutting-edge research.

As we gather in the serene surroundings of Bangladesh Agricultural University, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a pleasant and enriching stay. Together, let us harness the power of collaboration and innovation to advance the frontiers of veterinary science and promote the health and welfare of animals and humans alike.

I eagerly anticipate your participation and contributions to making this conference a resounding success.

Sincerely yours,

Professor Dr. Md. Ariful Islam
